SG2 (Super Gold 2), also marketed as R2, is a powdered metallurgy stainless steel by Takefu Special Steel. With a hardness of 63-64 HRC, it holds an incredibly keen edge while still resisting corrosion. Used in premium knives from Takamura, Saji, and the Shun Premier line.
